Pain relief

Acupuncture is effective in treating a wide range of complaints. Its reputation in the West is largely due to the positive effect it has on both chronic and acute pain. Whether it concerns complaints of tendon, muscle or joint, or pain such as headache, abdominal pain or genital pain, in most cases acupuncture can make a major contribution to relieving or resolving the pain.

Within acupuncture there are various styles for treating pain. The Distal Needling Acupuncture (DNA) of Robert Doane and the Tan Balance Method are two methods known for their great effectiveness in treating pain. The advantage of these styles is that no needles are placed on the painful area itself, and that pain relief is noticeable almost immediately after the treatment if the pain is present at that moment. I have specialised in both styles.

Below are a number of pain complaints that acupuncture can effectively address. For a more complete list of indications, go to the treatments page.

About the acupuncturist

Aron Ebbing trained as an acupuncturist at the “Qing Bai” academy for Chinese medicine in Amsterdam. His interest in acupuncture was sparked by his father, who ran a practice for homeopathy and acupuncture for twenty years and taught for ten years at what was then the academic day programme for naturopathy in Hilversum.

Aron also completed a training in Chinese herbal medicine at the “Qing Bai” academy.

During his training he did a weekly internship for 5 years with Jianmin Sun and Charlotte Johanns at the practice for Chinese medicine “Yu Yi Tang”, where some twenty to forty patients are treated each day.
